Shane & Tania’s Engagement Session

Had so much fun with Shane & Tania for their engagement session.  I am so looking forward to work with them again on their wedding day.

Their story by Shane :

Tania and I met on eHarmony in August of 2013. She was the one who started communicating with me and I was more then eager to communicate back. Once we got to the end of the eHarmony route, we decided to meet at Block 1912 for our first date on September 9th. I was absolutely amazed at how easy Tania was to talk to and how beautiful and intelligent she was. Shortly after this Tania went on a road trip to BC for a friend’s wedding, and we spent a week chatting through Facebook. Usually I don’t like online chatting, but I really enjoyed talking to Tania and getting to know her better. Once she got back we started seeing each other regularly. After about 3 or 4 weeks of dating Tania got to meet my parents. My parents live in BC and just happened to be in town, so we took it as a good opportunity even though we hadn’t been dating long. The dinner with my parents went very well, but after Tania’s parents found out, I had to meet them right away too. As you can imagine this is not typical in Indian culture to meet the parents so soon, but as nervous as I was, I think meeting Tania’s parents so soon really helped get my relationship with her family started on the right foot.

After dating for about 9 months I proposed to Tania. I planned a surprise picnic on a Saturday morning in May. We parked at a strip mall and walked through an alley, which lead to a very beautiful cement amphitheatre next to Lake Beaumaris. We set up the picnic on a circle of grass with a beautiful view of the lake, and once all the food and music was ready I proposed. Tania was nice enough to say yes. After we ate we spent some time blowing bubbles over the lake, then we went to tell Tania’s family the good news.
